John was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in November 2006. He faced life with cancer with remarkable courage and selflessness. He loved walking especially over the Lakeland Fells and the Peak District. Until May 2010 he continued working in the furniture trade in Bolton; a job he loved. Activities involved gardening, spending time with his family, DIY, following football and going to matches at Bolton Wanderers where he was a season ticket holder. John died on 14th September 2012.
